Not Your Typical Mom Blog—Let’s Be Real About Faith & Motherhood

Theresa Colbeth

I’ve started this blog before, but to be honest? It felt forced. Almost fake. Like one of those “perfect mom” blogs where everything looks effortless. And that’s not me. That’s not real life.

So, I’m starting fresh.

If you’re here, I want this to feel like a conversation between friends. No fluff, no pretending—just real, honest faith and motherhood. Because let’s face it, being a mom is messy. Parenting is hard. And trying to raise kids to love Jesus in a world that constantly pulls them in the opposite direction? That takes a lot of leaning on God.

Why Faith Matters in Motherhood

Motherhood isn’t just about managing schedules, making meals, and keeping tiny humans alive (though, let’s be real, some days that’s enough). It’s about guiding our kids to know and love Jesus. And that starts with us.

For me, my faith isn’t just something I think about on Sundays—it’s my foundation. In the good moments, I thank God. In the hard ones, I cling to Him. Whether I’m celebrating small wins or feeling completely overwhelmed, I know that I don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Leaning on God in the Chaos

There have been so many times I’ve had to stop and pray: Lord, help me. Guide me. Give me wisdom. Because let’s be honest, motherhood is humbling. The pressure to raise children who love Jesus, to model faith when I’m exhausted, and to trust God when things feel out of control—that’s where I need Him most.

And I know I’m not alone.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re failing, like you’re not patient enough, like you’re just trying to get through the day—God sees you. He’s with you in the ordinary, in the struggles, in the moments when you feel unseen.

This Blog Is for You If…

  • You want to grow in your faith but feel stretched thin.
  • You’re tired of the “perfect mom” narrative and just want real, honest encouragement.
  • You’re trying to raise kids who love Jesus but feel like you’re figuring it out as you go.

I don’t have all the answers. But I do know this: God is in the middle of our mess. And I want this space to be a reminder of that.

So, if you’re looking for real talk, encouragement, and reminders that God is with you in the chaos of motherhood, welcome. You’re in the right place.
